Meet the Camp Director for Summer 2021
Tony Williams
Tony is returning to Camp Pattersonville for his first year as Director, but his fifth summer on Staff. Tony loves to share the Gospel and occasionally fills the pulpit at his home church, Bellevue Reformed Church. During the rest of the year, Tony works as a Direct Support Professional at Living Resources, working with people with disabilities.
In Tony's words...
I am honored to accept the position of Camp Director for this summer. I look forward to reconnecting with former campers and meeting new ones. I can’t wait to build relationships with campers around the campfire and on our new basketball court. I am looking forward to enjoying all the Camp Patt activities including swimming in the pool, going hiking, archery, outdoor games and building crafts.
I grew up in Schenectady in an urban neighborhood where I mixed in with people of many different cultures. I graduated from Schenectady High in 2011, where I played varsity Football and Lacrosse. I became a Christian at age 15, while attending a Christian hip-hop concert. At the concert I learned the good news of God’s love for me, his forgiveness for me and most importantly that He had a plan for my life. Over the last 14 years I have had the privilege of ministering in Youth groups, on college campuses, and in music ministries. This participation in local ministries led me to Camp Patt where I was a counselor in 2015, 2016, and 2017. I served as Assistant Director in 2019. Camp Patt taught me discipline, responsibility and challenged me to grow in my faith. I matured as a young man in Christ at Camp Patt. While there, I was able to step out of my comfort zone, learn new skills, and grow in my leadership abilities.
My vision for this summer is to get campers back in an environment where they can have fun and learn about who they are in Christ. Our theme will be the Kingdom of God. My goal this summer is to teach children that they are a vital part of the Kingdom of God. I know this has been a difficult year for many families and kids having to face so many uncertainties. In these challenging days, we know God’s Kingdom is a sure foundation for all his children. “And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” (Luke 1:33)
Looking Unto Jesus,
Tony Williams, Director Camp Pattersonville
